FAQ
Short answers about products, themes, blocks, stock, performance, data and Swatchline Pro.
Which products show swatches?
Variable products, for each attribute used for variations whose swatch type isn't Dropdown.
Is there a limit on attributes, values or variations?
No. Swatchline works the same for two values or forty, and for products with hundreds of variations.
Does it work with my theme?
With themes that use WooCommerce's variation form: classic themes like Storefront, and block themes with the Add to Cart Form or Add to Cart + Options block. See Requirements and Block themes.
Does it slow down the product page?
It adds one small stylesheet and script on product pages with swatches, and a compact list of the product's variations read in a couple of database queries. Pages without swatches load nothing.
Can I show swatches on the shop page?
Not in Swatchline: it changes the product page. Swatchline Pro adds swatches to shop and category pages and Product Collection blocks, with the variation's image on hover and add to cart from the shop.
Can one product use different colours from the attribute?
In Swatchline, colours and images belong to the attribute's values, so they're the same on every product. Swatchline Pro lets you set a type, colours and images for a single product.
What if I deactivate Swatchline?
Your products show WooCommerce's dropdowns again. Swatch types, colours and images are kept for when you activate it again.
What happens to my data if I delete Swatchline?
When you click Deactivate on the Plugins screen, Swatchline asks what should happen to its data if you then delete the plugin. Keep it (the default), or have the swatch types, colours, images and settings removed when you delete it. Attributes, values and products are never touched.
Can I translate Swatchline?
Yes, on translate.wordpress.org. The template is included as languages/swatchline.pot. Attribute and value names are what you type under Products → Attributes.
