Order statuses, who can use the board, multiple packers, data and deleting the plugin, and what Packboard Pro adds.
Does Packboard add order statuses?
No. Stages are stored on the order separately, so the order stays Processing while it moves across the board, and becomes Completed when you mark it shipped. Reports, emails and other plugins see WooCommerce's usual statuses.
Who can use the board and the grid?
Anyone who can edit WooCommerce orders: by default Administrators and Shop managers.
Can several people work on the board at once?
Yes. Each move is saved straight away. The board reloads after every move you make, so you see what others changed then; reload the page to see their changes sooner.
Does it work with HPOS?
Yes. Packboard works with High-Performance Order Storage (the default for new stores) and with the older posts storage.
Is there a mobile view?
On a narrow screen, such as a tablet in portrait, the board's columns stack. Dragging cards needs a mouse; the buttons work everywhere.
Can I add tracking numbers, print pick lists or scan barcodes?
Those are in Packboard Pro, a paid add-on: batch pick lists sorted by bin location, a barcode pack station that catches wrong or missing items, and carriers and tracking numbers when you ship, with the tracking link in the customer's email and account. It works with WooCommerce's own Order Fulfillments too. Packboard keeps working the same with or without it. See extendiment.com/plugins/packboard.
Packboard Pro is no longer active. Where did my tracking and bin locations go?
Your tracking numbers and bin locations are still saved on your orders and products; they show again as soon as Packboard Pro is active. Stages and shipping dates work as before.
What happens to my data if I deactivate or delete Packboard?
Deactivating never removes anything. When you click Deactivate, Packboard asks what should happen if you then delete it:
- Keep it (the default): every order's stage and shipping date stay, ready for when you install Packboard again.
- Delete it permanently when the plugin is deleted: those are removed when you delete the plugin.
Either way, your orders themselves and their statuses are never touched, and Packboard Pro's data (tracking numbers, bin locations, its license) is left to Packboard Pro.
