# WooCommerce Order Fulfillments - Packboard 1.x documentation

> How Packboard Pro records shipments in WooCommerce's own Order Fulfillments feature when you turn it on, and what happens if it fails.

> [!NOTE]
> This is part of **Packboard Pro**.

WooCommerce 10.1 added **Order Fulfillments**, its own way of recording shipments on an order. It's off by default. Packboard Pro works either way, and uses it when it's on.

## When Order Fulfillments is off (the default)

Packboard Pro stores each tracking number on the order itself and shows it in its **Shipment tracking** box on the order screen, on the customer's order in My account, and in the Completed order email.

## When Order Fulfillments is on

When you ship from the board, Packboard Pro creates a WooCommerce fulfillment for the order:

- one shipment with every item that hasn't been fulfilled yet (items you already fulfilled by hand on the order screen are left out, and a fully fulfilled order gets no extra shipment),
- marked **fulfilled**, with the carrier, the tracking number and the tracking link,
- even without a tracking number, so WooCommerce's fulfillment status stays right.

The ship dialog then lists WooCommerce's carriers, a much longer list than Packboard Pro's own. Carriers you added with a filter are still there.

From then on WooCommerce shows the shipment itself: in its **Fulfillments** panel on the order screen and on the customer's order. Packboard Pro's own Shipment tracking box steps aside so nothing shows twice, and the Completed order email still gets Packboard Pro's tracking block.

Tracking numbers saved before you turned the feature on keep showing alongside the new shipments.

## If something goes wrong

Order Fulfillments is a new part of WooCommerce, and its internals may change between releases. If recording a shipment there fails, Packboard Pro doesn't stop: it saves the tracking number on the order itself, ships the order as usual, and adds an order note:

> Could not record this shipment as a WooCommerce fulfillment (see WooCommerce → Status → Logs, source "packboard-pro"). Tracking was saved by Packboard Pro instead.

The details are in **WooCommerce → Status → Logs** under the source `packboard-pro`. Update WooCommerce and Packboard Pro to their latest versions; if the note keeps appearing, send us the log entry.

## Turning it on or off

WooCommerce's Order Fulfillments setting is under **WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features** in WooCommerce versions that show it there. Switching it doesn't move existing tracking: numbers saved by Packboard Pro stay on their orders, and WooCommerce fulfillments stay in WooCommerce.
