# Finding products - Gridline 1.x documentation

> Search by name or SKU, filter by category, type, stock status and status, sort by a column, and page through the results.

The grid shows your newest products first. Search, filters and sorting narrow it down to the ones you want to work on.

## Search

Type in **Search products** (top right) and press **Enter** or click the button. The search looks in:

- product names,
- descriptions and short descriptions,
- SKUs, including variations' SKUs: searching for a variation's SKU finds its product.

Clear the box and search again to see everything.

## Filters

Above the grid, choose any of:

- **Category** (subcategories are included),
- **Product type**: simple, variable, grouped, external,
- **Stock status**: in stock, out of stock, on backorder,
- **Status**: published, draft, pending review, private,

then click **Filter**. Filters and the search work together: "out of stock" in "Kitchen" with "mug" in the name, for example.

## Sorting

Click a column heading to sort by it, and again to reverse the order. These columns can be sorted:

- **Name** (alphabetically)
- **SKU**
- **Regular price** and **Sale price** (as numbers)
- **Stock** (the quantity)

Other plugins' columns can be sortable too.

## Pages

The number of products found is shown at the top right, with the page links. Type a page number in the box and press **Enter** to jump to it. Choose how many products a page shows (10 to 200) in **Screen Options**.

> [!NOTE]
> Changing the page, search, filters or sorting reloads the grid, so Gridline asks first if you have unsaved changes. Save them first to keep them.
