# CSV export - Gridline 1.x documentation

> Download what the Bulk Editor shows as a CSV file for a spreadsheet: the products your search and filters find, with the columns you show.

> [!NOTE]
> This is part of **Gridline Pro**.

**Export CSV** above the grid downloads a CSV file of exactly what you're looking at, across all pages:

- the products your **search** and **filters** find, in the grid's **sort order**,
- their **variations** too, when **Show variations** is ticked,
- the **columns** shown in Screen Options, in the grid's order.

Unsaved changes aren't in the file: save first.

## The file

The file is named `products-` and the date, for example `products-2026-10-07.csv`. It opens in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice and Google Sheets.

Each row starts with:

| Column | What it is |
|---|---|
| ID | The product's or variation's ID |
| Type | simple, variable, variation, grouped or external |
| Parent ID | For a variation, its product's ID |
| Product | The name (for a variation, its attributes) |

then one column per column shown in the grid. Values are written as the grid shows them:

- choices as their labels ("Published", "In stock"),
- Yes or No,
- categories, tags and attribute terms as names, separated by commas,
- images as their URLs,
- descriptions as HTML.

A cell that doesn't apply to a product (a variable product's price, say) is empty.

> [!NOTE]
> A value that starts with `=`, `+`, `-` or `@` is written with a `'` in front, as WooCommerce's own export does, so a spreadsheet never runs it as a formula.

## Importing

The file is for reading, reports and sharing. To change products from a spreadsheet, use WooCommerce's importer under **Products → Import**, which reads WooCommerce's own export format (**Products → Export**).
